This corporation is undergoing many changes.. The specific purposes for which this corporation was organized have been to provide education, charitable assistance, encouragement, support, information, referrals, and advocacy for those touched by epilepsy. We have been the only non-profit corporation and all-volunteer staff in Santa Cruz County solely dedicated to providing services for those whose lives are touched by epilepsy.
Brian and Susan Hogue founded this organization to provide a network of support for their son, Paul, and approximately 4,500 other people in Santa Cruz County with epilepsy, and to develop public awareness and understanding of people with seizure disorders in the community. Paul began having seizures two weeks before his 7th birthday. Now, 22 years later, Paul continues to have generalized tonic clonic and absence seizures while struggling with difficulties caused or intensified by his 'invisible disability' and it's medications. He has dramatically improved since receiving the NeuroPace implant over 4 years ago, and continues to improve!
